THE OPENING OF THE VI WORLD FORUM OF INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE TOOK PLACE IN BAKU

The opening of the VI World Forum of Intercultural Dialogue on the theme “Dialogue for Peace and Global Security: Cooperation and Interaction” took place in Baku.

 The President of Azerbaijan Republic  Ilham Aliyev spoke at the opening of the forum.

 The event was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Caucasus Muslim Board, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), the Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations.

The plenary sessions of the forum were attended by heads and representatives of religious structures, international organizations, members of governments, representatives of international media, leaders and representatives of non-governmental organizations from more than 100 countries.

 On behalf of the Holy See monsignor Khalid Akashe, head of the Office of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue with Islam, and secretary of the Commission for Religious Relations with Muslims is taking part in the international event.

Apostolic Prefect of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan, Bishop Vladimir Fekete, the priest of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Fr. Vladimir Baxa and press secretary of the Prefecture Toral Agayev also took part in the work of the conference.
